i’ve been catching up on all the seasons of the X-Files, one of my favourite shows from back in the 1990s.  i’ve always been a huge believer in life on other planets; i mean, how can you not be? space is so huge, who knows what else is lurking in its depths?

a couple of nights ago, i had a dream that conveniently could have been an episode of X-Files, due to topic and how it all unfolded in my head:

my dream revolved around dana scully and her abduction early on as a kid (for some reason though, she knew fox mulder as a kid and he never stopped searching for her, leading him straight into adulthood) and her life as an adopted daughter of the alien species that did the abduction.  it turns out, her alien parents were sympathetic to their daughter’s longing to be back on earth and so they came up with an ingenious plan to get her back to mulder, the one person she spoke openly to them about.  being that he was a firm believer in their existence, and his determination to prove their existence, the alien family felt it was the right to do; they didnt want the experiments of their kind to be questioned.

at this point, my brain led my dream through some crazy action scenes involving high speed chases through alien ships and lots of laser gun fights (yes, it was pretty cool; what can i say, i have a vivid imagination).

the whole thing ended just as i was beginning to wake with the eventual safe return of dana scully to fox mulder, and the unexpected attachment her adopted alien family felt towards dana after she was returned.

pretty nifty dream eh? good enough for a screenplay maybe?? heck, its a movie i’d go and see (actually, hollywood needs to make another X-Files movie! i loved the two they have made and seeing the love story between mulder and scully finally happen was awesome!)

hmmm, 25 seconds to spare…..
