These Sugar Free Peanut Butter Cups the perfect dessert for chocolate lovers. They are super easy and made from simple ingredients.
You can stash a batch in the freezer to have one ready any time those PB Cup cravings hit!

With no added sweetener or sugar, these do have a bit of a bitter taste. If you are a dark chocolate lover, these should be perfect. If you have a sweeter chocolate tooth, feel free to toy with adding some Maple Syrup to the chocolate mixture - I am sure that would be delicious!

Sugar Free Peanut Butter Cup Additions

Feel free to customize with any nut butters of your choice. I have tried with Peanut Butter, Almond Butter, and Coconut Peanut Butter. All have been amazing!

Try topping the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups with some flakey sea salt (I love Maldon). Make sure you sprinkle it on while the chocolate is still melted so it sticks.

Try sprinkling some Pumpkin Pie Spice on top for a fall-flavored Peanut Butter Cup.

You can use Milk Chocolate as well instead of pure chocolate, though note that the Cups will no longer be sugar free.

Sugar Free Peanut Butter Cups RECIPE:

    You will need:

    • ⅔ C Coconut oil, melted
    • ⅔ C Raw Cacao powder
    • ½ tsp Vanilla
    • Nut butter of choice
    • Silicone mini muffin tray, silicone ice tray, or mini muffin tray
    1. Combine coconut oil, cacao powder and vanilla until combined and all clumps are dissolved. Using only half the mixture, scoop ~½ Tbsp into silicone muffin tray and pop in freezer.
    2. Meanwhile, scoop some nut butter of your choice into a bowl and mix it up very well, so that is not too runny. (Note I find older nut butters work a bit better, when they are not as runny as a fresh jar.)
    3. Remove tray from freezer, roll nut butter into little balls and place on top of chocolate. Gently flatten with your fingers. Pop back in freezer.
    4. After 5 - 10 minutes, removed from freezer and top cups with remaining chocolate mixture. Pop back in freezer for at least 20 minutes.

[…] Its difficult to turn some people onto healthy baking. I recognize with my description of “smushed up cooked apples” above, I may not be the best marketer. But its really something you need to try, and see how much better you feel versus eating more traditional sugar laden treats, and you will totally get on board.  And then you will realize that this baking is also super easy and super creative. And then your creative juices will just start flowing like my favorite blueberry smoothie. And you will start looking for ways to replace refined white flour, like grinding up oats, or grinding up this nut, or that nut, or maybe this doesn’t need flour at all. And then you’ll be replacing sugar with cinnamon, or fruit, or anything remotely sweet, or maybe you want a more bitter dessert after all (hellllo, sugar free chocolate PB cups!) […]
