25 minutes, 3 ingredients, and 1 Steam Oven (or regular oven!) are all you need for this gluten free, dairy free, healthy Sheet Pan Diiner of Salmon and Delicata Squash!
I am super excited to share this fall-inspired Sheet Pan Dinner recipe in partnership with Sharp USA. Not only is it an amazing meal, but my new kitchen appliance has made cooking completely foolproof and crazy fast, so it's a breeze to make!
This recipe is so great because it is delicious, easy, and super nutritious all in one. The Wild Sockeye Salmon is full of Omega-3 fatty acids and protein, the delicata squash is rich in fiber, and kale is packed with Vitamin A, all while being steam cooked.
Did I mention how quickly this meal comes together, since there is NO PREHEATING REQUIRED?! Say whaaaat! If you don't have a Countertop Oven, you can certainly make this Simple Sheet Pan Meal in a regular oven as well.
This Superheated Steam Countertop Oven from Sharp is simply amazing. Food stays super moist, clean up is a breeze, and as mentioned above, my absolute favorite part: there is NO preheating required! That saves a TON of time. For this recipe, I used the Bake and Broil settings. There are also Toast, Warm, and Pizza settings; you can make pretty much anything that you could make in a regular oven. It’s safe to say I am LOVEN‘ my new Kitchen toy. (See what I did there???)
To be honest, I was a bit intimidated at first when my Superheated Steam Countertop Oven arrived, (as I always am with new kitchen appliances,) but I found it incredibly fun and surprisingly easy to use. Since the oven uses superheated steam (up to 485 °F) , food retains its moisture and stays incredibly moist, so it is more difficult to overcook something than when using a conventional oven. In fact, this recipe came together with very little trial and error, and I also made some French Toast that turned out perfectly on my first try! It was so moist, not burnt at all, and I could easily make 9 slices at once -- definitely better than the stovetop French Toast experience!
Another major pro of my Steam Oven: The inside light auto-turns on while your food is cooking, and off when it’s done. I love turning on my regular oven light, but always forget to turn it off, so I found this feature incredibly exciting! (Anyone else???)
The squash cooks first, since it takes a bit longer than the fish and greens. This allows you time to massage your kale and season your fish. Then, simply add everything onto one pan, finish cooking in the countertop oven, and enjoy your meal! This recipe calls for 1 lb of Salmon, which can usually feed about 2 – 4 people. Considering that this is a countertop appliance, the amount of food you can make is amazing!
The oven comes with a broiler pan and crisper tray, (which are actually much larger than a quarter sized sheet pan), and they fit perfectly in the oven as well, so you can take advantage of using all the space. I would definitely recommend a Sharp Superheated Countertop Steam Oven to anyone who is doing a kitchen remodel, or living in a micro-studio without an oven, or even just gets home from work hungry and wants to make dinner in less than half an hour!
Also, the delicata squash makes this recipe perfect for fall. If you want to make this using another vegetable, try using sweet potatoes or zucchini. Just make sure that your potatoes are cut into small enough pieces, so that they are fully cooked through by the end. I would not recommend a vegetable that takes super long to cook.

- 1 Medium Delicata Squash
- 1 Lb Wild Salmon
- 2 Cups Kale
- 2 tablespoon Avocado Oil Divided
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- Salt, pepper, red pepper flakes To taste

- Cut delicata squash into half moons - cut in half lengthwise, scoop out seeds, and then cut in 1cm slices. Toss with 1 tablespoon oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Line your Broiler Tray with parchment paper. Put the squash in your Sharp Countertop Steam Oven - bake at 400 for 10 minutes.
- While the squash is baking, prep your salmon and kale. Top the salmon with salt, pepper, garlic powder, turmeric, and red pepper flakes, to your taste preferences. Massage 1 tablespoon of oil and some salt into the kale.
- Remove the squash, toss, and push to half the tray. Add the kale, with the salmon on top to the other side of the tray. Bake in your Sharp Oven at 400 for 8 minutes. Then, broil for 2 minutes.
- Put some squash, salmon and greens on your plate, and enjoy!
This recipe can be considered a complete meal with its protein, healthy fats, carbs, and greens. However, if you want to add a bit more depth to your dinner, some suggested sides are: Toasted Garlic Bread, Cilantro Lime Rice, or some Garlic Quinoa! Or, just some fresh bread to dip is Balsamic Vinegar & Olive Oil to keep things really simple.
